Interviewed in March, still waiting.

For anyone who has been accepted or had an interview for Howard, what were your gpa, pcat scores, and who wrote your letters of recommendations. I plan to apply to Howard for '06, and I really want to get in, it is my top choice. Also I heard it is very competetive, and minorities have an advantage ? 🙂 Thanks.
Hi Eritrawit,
I asked my organic professor and my manager for my recommendations. Some schools (not sure about Howard) actually require recommendations from science professors. My GPA is not competitive, but I did well on the PCAT. When I went to the interview, the professors that interviewed me told me that they take everything into account. They don't focus on just the GPA and/or PCAT. They look at everything: your experiences, personal statement, and community serivce for example. I am not sure if minorities have an advantage in terms of getting admitted. Good question though. Best of luck to you! 🙂

I'm not sure, but Howard might be considered an HBCU (historically black college or university) - I think I heard that on Tom Joyner's morning show, and it says so on this site: http://hbcuconnect.com/hbcuprofiles/cgi-bin/hbcuSearch.cgi
I know, don't believe everything you read on the internet!
I'm not sure what that means in terms of admissions policies.

Howard is a HBCU. In terms of its pharmacy school, I think minorities are in the majority given the school's history but I think everyone should have a competitive application to get. I don't think it easy for minorities to get just more attend the school.
