Hey guys!
just wanted to start a thread for people who have received acceptances. Please post asap when you hear from schools because i'm sure everyone is dying to know!

cosmo,

Are you going to UOP?

Thanks. I don't know yet, I'm still waiting for 3 more schools (UCSF, UCSD, and OSU). I did, however, send in my $500 deposit to hold my spot just in case the other schools don't pan out.

Midwestern-Glendale- YEA!!

i still havent heard anything from uop yet. but anyways, i have a problem: my final transcript just came in and I have all A's in everything, except for speech in which I got a C!! I think it was a mistake on the professor's part cuz there is in no way I could have gotten that grade with the scores I got on my speeches. Anyways, should I send in my transcript to USC and UOP and tell them that there was a mistake so that they could see how well I'm doing academically? Is speech class that important to pharmacy school? This is a really big speedbump for me since I'll probably have to wait til january 5th to get this fixed, and i'm impatient. So should I wait and send the fixed transcript later, or should I send it now with that awful C and an apology for the professor's mistake?

Anyhow, merry xmas and an awesome new year's!

Mai

i would call the school and ask them what to do. they might want you to send in a transcript now for evaluation and send in another one when you get the C fixed. meanwhile, try contact that stupid speech professor and get back the grade you deserve.

and yes, speech is important in pharm and any other professions.
good luck and merry x'mas.

Hello TC714.

How did you get accepted to UoP so fast? I thought you had a letter of recommendation problem about a week ago? Anyway, I was just curious.

vogel....it's a miracle 🙂 trust me

Just wondering -- for schools that you guys have already gotten into -- is it better to apply early? My friend is applying for the fall of 2004, and she's still starting on some schools... mostly in the midwest. I'm not too familiar with the process, and I'd appreciate the insight!

The rule of thumb is the sooner you apply the better. However, this rule applies more to the competitive schools.

Hearing stories like this make me livid!
Send the transcripts after the correction is made. If this will really be a problem with the deadlines, send out the transcripts, then head over to your college registrar and DEMAND that the dean of your school write to all the schools to which you've applied and explain the screw-up; send these letters by registered mail---- you don't want this mistake to hold you back.
With the movement of pharmacy pratice towards the provision of cognitive services and pharmaceutical care, I think that your speech class may factor pretty highly in the admissions game.
