Any advice for PAT pattern folding?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
In problems that don't have markings, you can usually find the largest unique shape in the folded pattern and find the answer containing that shape.

In problems with markings, try to compare folds that are next to each other. If fold side #1 is on the opposite end of the pattern as fold side #2, then think that fold side #1 has a symmetrical fold side that is probably attached to fold side #2. It will attach to fold side #1 oppositely.

I'm not sure if you can follow that last explanation but I'm not sure how else to explain it.
