Have you been interviewed by St. George's U? When you get an interview, does that mean you're "in"? Can you let me know everything you can about the interview process - what to prepare for, what essays to pick from, what kinds of questions (weaknesses etc) were asked, what should I go over, etc? I really do appreciate all your time and help! Thanks!

Hey Indiegirl! I was interviewed and accepted to SGU back in September...The interview process is pretty laid back...it is really important to relax and be comfortable with yourself and you will do just fine...There are many essay topics but from my interview I remember something along the lines of..."Name and describe the most influential/inspirational person in your life", "Describe 3 characteristics that you possess that will contribute to your success as a veterinary student and veterinarian", "Describe a significant event in your life that you consider life altering", etc. etc...These may not be the exact words but you get the idea🙂 You have about 10-15 minutes to complete the essay and its presence in the interview is really to ensure them that you can write a cognizant reply to an important question and that you were the true author of your personal statement and application essays..After the essay, the interviewer will ask you questions about your file...The questions really depend on you and your interviewer..my interviewer ask me about my different animal (clinical and non-clinical) experiences, academics, previous applications to vet school, how close I was to my family, how well did I believe I could adapt to living in foreign country, how I planned to fund my education, describe the difference between animal rights and animal welfare..It really feels more like a chat than a formal interview..My advice to you is to relax and be yourself🙂 Be honest with your answers and have some questions for your interviewer about SGU so he/she will know that you are interested🙂

I will be starting vet school this fall at UGA but I did TONS of research on SGU when I was applying to vet schools this past year..Let me know if you have any questions and I will try to help you out..Hope this helps and good luck on your interview!

Thanks so much for your input! Can I have your email?

Did you have to finish your pre-requisites? Is that why you applied last September and just entering this Fall of 2005? I still need to complete Organic Chemistry I and II, Biochemistry I and Genetics.
