hey there,
basically i'm wanting to strike up some casual convo with somebody already in the shoes i'm about to be in.
i just started my intern year, matched radiology. been working with an Air Force Reserve physician recruiter that has been slow to deliver a real live contact for me to speak with. i'm taking the stipend program and after residency i plan to take the loan reimbursement for a total payback of 14-16 years- which is fine because i'm looking forward to 20+ (my ol' man retired with 36 years of service).
i'm curious about my situation because i'm gonna be a radiologist. so i'm basically useless except at 4 bases: san fran, st. louis, dayton, and D.C.
i was told that if i do an interventional fellowship then i'll meet the requirements to be a flight surgeon which would open up my base options.
