Any August MCAT-ers get an interview yet???

I took the August MCAT and got a 32 and have yet to get a single interview offer. WTF?? My grades are respectable and I have done research too. I applied to a total of 9 schools. I'd like to hear from other people who took only the Aug '04 MCAT and not the April '04 MCAT.

Have you ever visited SDN before? Try doing a thread search next time you have a question such as this one. You would be amazed at the diversity of issues addressed here. Oh yeah, and check this out:

Finally, it's a long wait. Because your "respectable" grades and test score are likely not going to jump out at anyone, you are just going to have to wait a bit longer. If your stats are well above average at some of the schools and you were complete at those schools as soon as your scores were released, you might consider calling them.

DrDarwin is right that there are a lot of posts about this, if you do a search you will find more info for people who took the Aug MCAT. I took the MCAT this past Aug and also scored a 32, I have 2 interviews scheduled so far but I applied to more schools than you (15). I have had 2 rejections and one "pre-interview hold" letter, so I am still waiting to hear something from 10 schools that I have been complete at since the scores were released mid-Oct. If you grades and LOR's are good and you had everything in by the time scores came out, you will hear something--most schools are still sending out invites into Feb. I'm hoping to hear some good news from at least a couple of those 10 remaining schools in Jan myself. Good luck!

I feel the pain... 31 and a 3.53 with a 3.8 in my major of BIO. Not a thing except 3 rejections and a shady pre-interview holdfrom GW. Sad since my state schools are done (NJ) except for interviewing for a waitlist perhaps... but I think interviewing with no hope of getting in is a waste of time since there are already going to be a ton of people on the waitlist from the normal interviewing period... oh well.

Well so far I had a 27M and a 3.26 GPA and got one interview one pre-interview hold and then ntohing on the other two schools I applied to. So we'll see what happens.... crossing the fingers but my interview went well so who knows.

I've gotten 5 interviews so far, but I put in my AMCAS application pretty early... so schools were only waiting on the scores. I also wrote follow emails/letter and sometimes made follow-up calls to make sure schools had my August scores. In reality, I just wanted them to look at my application and know I had a real desire to get into their school. Anyway, you'll definitely get interviews. Good scores! CONGRATS! It's still early. 😀

I have seven so far- 3.86 post-bac GPA and 29S MCAT. I have a law degree and some life/job experience and got my application in early-- maybe that helped. I am still waiting on 20 schools (I applied to 31- 7 interviews, 4 rejections and 20 no word yet) so I understand.

30 O, 3.70 GPA, one interview so far.
i had to call the school just to check that they had received my file and the secretary told me i was scheduled for an interview!
still waiting on nine more schools and i'm losing hope for this year.
