Just curious.

I'm an in-stateresident who actually interviewed at RWJ last year and sat pretty high on their waitlist all summer but to no avail - retook MCAT in August and even improved 4 points to a 32.
It's getting pretty late in the season. Of all the places I applied to this year, I really would have expected to hear from them again by now. *shrug* Perhaps they're not terribly interested in reapplicants.

Anyhow, does anyone know whether or not they've looked much at August MCATers yet?

I'm an August MCATer. I contacted one of the admissions officers (whom I met over the summer) about two weeks ago. She informed me that the adcom was still reviewing my application, and that I should receive a notification about an interview come mid-January. Well, it's pretty near mid-January, and I'm going to remain optimistic.

Have you, perhaps, tried contacting RWJ to see what's been going on with your application?

I wish you the best with everything 🙂

I contacted them so many times already and each time they keep saying I should hear back soon (never happens since october)so I had my adviser call again. I am growing impatient and my stats should get me an interview there as it is my state school. They said they are terribly backlogged this year and I will get an interview sooner or later...but i am sure it will only be for a waitlist spot at best... they did say that many other state residents are in the same position I am in and they are behind compared to last year. But who knows.... good luck

I was an April MCATer, but I wasn't complete (damn LORs!) until 11/10, and I had an interview on 1/7. good luck everyone

I took the August MCAT and interviewed with RWJ yesterday. The interview group was smaller than most of the other places I've been to (less than 10 people). It seemed like a great place though. I was impressed with the Bristol Meyers Squibb Children's Hospital and the new Child Health Institute they're buildling. That and, they had a hired pianist playing in the lobby of the hospital. Its rare to find a large underserved population paired with such a nice upscale hospital.

i'm a NY resident - august MCATer and NOTHING from them yet. *sigh*

aug mcater and nj resident...got an interview offer 2 days ago

oops. add that i'm a NY resident, but they apparently note whether you have NJ ties or not. the lady who answered the phone said that there's a nice pink note on my application folder indicating that i went to high school in NJ and my parents still live here.

When I attended an open house last summer, my tour group visited teh Squibb Children's Hospital. It was beautiful. I was very impressed with the everything RWJ had to offer. It's really a great school.

I hope your interview went well, lightnk102
