I apologize if this was mentioned elsewhere but does anyone know what percentage of II go out in August alone? It feels like a lot do. While I'm incredibly lucky to have a couple, I guess I'm just wondering if we're at a point where like 50% or more of all II have been given out...

There's a handful of schools (like Thomas Jefferson) that start their process super early and are already booked out till late October, emphasis on handful, but even they might have not hit 50% because the cycle runs until Feb/March. That being said, there's a bunch of schools that haven't even sent out any interviews, and even more that only sent out their first batch this week.

This process sucks A$$ and is painfully long and anxiety inducing (cue @Mr.Smile12 with the article). But don't fret, while it is somewhat school dependent, the vast majority of II's have yet to come. Enjoy the ride to Mars (@LizzyM lol)

Here's some data from two cycles ago (2022-2023 cycle). 50% of MD interviews were given out by mid-late September.

50%??

Based on cycle trackers, only around 15%-20% of IIs will be handed out by end of August.

I think y'all need to realize the proportion of people who utilize SDN and Reddit is nowhere near representative of the entire applicant pool.

Remember, no fretting until Black Friday (day after American Thanksgiving). After that point, if you haven't even one interview, you might start to worry. Until then, relax, read a book or binge watch something silly. With any luck, you'll have no time for such frivolity next fall.
