I applied several years ago (2002), but my GPA was below a 3.4, and I was a non-science (English) major. I got into plenty of schools.

Times are a changin' since we applied, don't you think.

Gavin got accepted a few years ago. I don't think society would have advanced that much to remark about the changing times.

Here's another average applicant with an interview at Case! It must have been my killer essay!

I didn't know my opinion was equivalent to society. It has nothing to do with the advancement of society. When the job market got bad a few years back applications to law, dental and professional programs shot up in general. I can tell you from the standpoint of my school's statistics that since 1999 there has been a pretty significant increase in quality of applicants. I too had a "low" gpa when I was applying and of course you can get into a program. I was remarking how it has gotten more competitive. That's not an earth-shattering statement, it's pretty much common knowledge at this point.
