2008 is the updated green book with more material and reorganization. Don't know what the difference is with 2006-7 but the chapters are significantly longer than the 2005 version.

Hope this helps

BMW, Is this in reference to the 'Home Study' books or the 'Lecture Notes'?

Thanks!

The 2008 Lecture Notes which are Dark Blue are exactly the same as the 2006-2007 Lecture Notes which are Sky Blue. I just opened up the Biochem books for both years from my library and page for page, the indexes of each of the books is the same.

The dark green 2008 version BMWM3 is referring to is the Kaplan Home study. The 2005-2007 Kaplan Home Study are black in color. I do not know the differences between these two editions, if anyone wants to enlighten us, it would be awesome.

I posted something about the same subject in an earlier post...

basically, I had access to the 2005, 06-07, and 2008 Lecture Notes. The differences between the 2005 and the 2006-2007 are mostly organization (which actually helps quite a bit) and some new information put in and older information thrown away. There is no difference between the 2006-2007 and the 2008 as anthroguy correctly pointed out. I think there was one line in one of the 06-07 books that was omitted in the 2008, but that was it.

I may have gotten to the bottom of this...........

The following is in reference to "USMLE Step 1 Home Study Program" (depicted below)

I compared the 2005 edition (black covers;2005 copyright) with the 2007 edition (green covers; 2007 copyright). I only compared book #3, which covers Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Renal/Urinary, Hematologic/Lymphoreticular, and Nervous Systems.

My conclusion is that there is absolutely no difference. Page for page the two books were the same. Importantly, the table of contents were identical.

I hope this helps!
