Any chance of getting into DA residency?

Hi everyone. I just finished my second year of dental school and I’m interested in dental anesthesiology. Unfortunately my gpa tanked this semester to a 3.25. I haven’t taken the CBSE yet but I’m studying for it currently. I have shadowing hours and can possibly get a strong letter of rec from a DA. I don’t think there are enough credits left to significantly increase my gpa. Is there any chance of getting into residency? What can I do to increase my chances of getting in? Thank you in advance.

If you got passion for it, dont let one thing deter you from going for it. Things will fall into place. However, getting a good score in CBSE has the best chance to offset the GPA
