I am in desparate need of help planning a road trip from CA to IL. My parents keep telling me that I need to spend at least 4 days on the road, but their route is going through 40 (through arizona, new mezico, oklahoma, arkansas, tennessee, missouri then il) whereas I want to go through 80 (nevada, utah, wyoming, nebraska, iowa, then il). My parents main issue is going through the rocky mountains (how difficult of a drive it will be, etc). Can anyone who's been through this give me any tips?
