If you don't mind telling us, what's your background? I'm guessing HYP undergrad?

@synthmonsterjax: I go to one of Northwestern/JHU/Duke/UChi/WashU.

@Frazier: My interests lie in healthcare (though this is probably stating the obvious), broadly defined from the industry side of things (in biotech/pharma) to clinical practice and anything in between. As such, I have toyed with the idea of doing a 2-3 year stint at a consulting firm, and then either going to business school or getting back on the MD track (if I decide the business work doesn't suit me). One of the caveats to this approach is that I don't think the med schools will defer for MBB gigs, so I'd potentially have go through the application process all over again...

Well, do you think the consulting gigs will be off the table if you go to medical school first?
