Does making the 1st mailing mean you are more competitive in getting interviews than if you were to make the 5th mailing? My impression was that there will no difference in the schools' probabilities of handing out interview invitations. (At least that's what I hope. My application is being held up due to transcript issues so I'm estimating I'll make the 5th mailing)

My app was mailed out late July, and wasn't even reviewed by a couple schools until well into interviews. I don't know if it decreases your chances much, but I am sure it does some.

Shen, im in the same boat. 1 damn transcript, everything else was ready over a week ago. Someone messed up, and now I have to pay for it. Ill be late July also. I cant believe things have gotten so hypercompetitive that applying in early july is "early" and applying in late july is considered "late." I couldnt be more pissed.

Same boat here. My final transcript just came in today (Over two and a half weeks after it was postmarked) and now I have to wait on the GPA calculation! This is really frustrating, but I hope it doesn't affect any of our chances at getting interviews and such. I think the first two official mailings are july 2nd and july 9th so hopefully we wont be too far behind?

Dude, im still waiting for 1 transcript sent on the 11th. I just re-sent it today. Im in an awful situation, I think you should be fine though.

how do you know all the mailing dates already?

They are posted in other threads...

hey mike, I would consider resending if you havent. I talked to a guy at AADSAS who was very helpful and he told me that if my transcripts didnt come up after 3 weeks I should def resend them. Hope yours get in soon tho!

So here what I am thinking. I had 2 transcripts postmarked for the 10th which were received on the 18th. I had 1 postmaked for the 16, which was received on the 28th. I know a few people with transcripts postmarked on the 14th which were received by the aadsas today. So the one transcript I have left, which was postmarked on the 11th, should be in by tomorrow or the next day. As in, maybe they are opening their mail in backwards order?

If you are curious to what schools consider "late" or "early" read the following taken of Ohio State's website:

If you submit your application and apply EARLY (June 1st), you will have a much better chance to be considered for an interview.
•
First received – first reviewed.
•
Decisions are made concerning interviews in the order in which applications are received, completed and reviewed.
•
First received – first completed – first reviewed – first interview invitations.
•
If you complete your application and apply LATE (in August), there is a chance that, regardless of your credentials, you will NOT be considered for an interview (see dates below).
•
Last received – last reviewed – no interview spots available – no interview invitations.

According to this August may be too late, and July as you said may be towards the bottom of the pile. I'm sure most schools are the same.
