I was recently made aware that some MD schools require all prereqs to be finished before they even look at an applicant's secondary, which kind of sucks for me since I still have one lab course left to take. I was planning on taking it next spring, but then that would leave me out of the running for the schools with that policy. Some MD schools require the applicant take the course by the January of their matriculating year, and others only require that the courses be finished by matriculation.
Do any DO schools have a policy of not granting interviews or acceptances until the applicant has finished all prereqs? I don't plan to be finished with them until winter of this year since I will probably be taking the last class during fall of this year. Would I still get secondaries/interviews/acceptances without this last course?
