Virtually all medical schools interview. However, I recall hearing that WVSOM may offer an applicant an acceptance without an interview, if he or she meets certain academic criteria. I've long since forgotten what that criteria was, or what the specifics are. If you do a search, it's here somewhere.
I think WVSOM has an auto acceptance with >32 MCAT AND >3.5 GPA

When I interviewed there it was a 27 and a 3.5 I only know that because a few people in my group came to see the school but were already accepted with those stats. However, from what I understood, they were only doing that to raise their average MCAT so they may have done away with it.

Wouldn't a better strategy be to give financial aid/scholarship to those people?
Not true. I was told that anyone the school is interested in must receive an interview.
I know someone who got an auto-acceptance from WVSOM.
No, it can't be because I have a higher MCAT than 28 and I wasn't offered a place at the school...only an interview

I turned down my MSU interview because of the high OOS tuition there. Couldn't afford to go there even if accepted.
Before they phased out interviews. I guess it was actually.. wow... 2005. 😱
