Plastic surgery is a competitve residency for MDs, do you know of any DOs that have made it into this residency or have wound up becoming plastic surgeons through another route?

i had to see a plastic surgeon not to long ago... she was a DO who graduated from PCOM and she totally rocked! with that said, I think you can do whatever you want with your DO education as long as you've got the grades and the know-how. good luck to you!

Someone matched into Plastics Surgery according to COMP class of 2005's matchlist.

I don't mean to sound mean, but this question is asked ALL the time. THERE ARE DO's EVERYWHERE. It isn't a quack degree. A DO is a physician. He/She can practice whatever as long as they obtain the correct training. In short, if you are a DO or an MD you have to work your butt off to get into competitive residencies. A doctor is a doctor is a doctor. They get paid the same, and in my opinion, should be given the same respect.

Just my $0.02.
