Hello everyone!

I was wondering if anyone has any experience using the DEA / chapter 35 benefits to pay for medical school? I qualify for it and will likely attend an in-state school, but I cannot find much about it online. I am specifically looking into the tuition benefits chapter 35 provides for Virginia residents. Thanks!

Cant help much with chapter 35 since I had chapter 33, but I also ran into confusion on how to use my benefits. Definitely communicate with the financial aid office about your benefits. Your school should have a veteran's affairs officer or something to that end who you can reach out to as well. They'll both help figure things out.

From what I’ve seen, the benefits can definitely cover a good chunk of tuition if you’re eligible, and there’s also the Virginia Military Survivors and Dependents Education Program (VMSDEP) that can give you even more support if you're in-state.

Yep thats the one I am specifically curious if anyone has used. I have gotten into multiple IS schools so the benefits make me lean towards going to one of them. However I have also interviewed with multiple T10 OOS schools so if I get lucky and get into one of them I don't know what I'll do.
