I've never had an eye brow waxing or manicure in my life. I was considering getting them done when I get an interview. Has anyone else done this just for an interview?

I don't think a manicure is necessary, but you probably don't want a unibrow. Tweezers would work just fine 😀

Some people want to seem too manly to take good care of themselves. Truth is, you should have your eyebrows, nose hairs, ear hairs groomed a long with your regular haircuts. Overall it will make you look more put together and it's not as if anyone is going to be able to tell, you'll just look naturally well groomed.

I have never had a manicure but I don't see a single thing wrong with it. In an interview I would notice if someone had gross looking hands.

Why not be the best you can be?

haircut? yes. eyebrows, nose hairs, ear hairs? youve got to be kidding me. i highly doubt this is a problem with younger guys unless they have a unibrow. but if youre into the metro look, then more power to you

i'm totally getting a manicure!!

i was thinking of getting some restylane before interviews? i'm only 21 but have deep nasolabial folds.

i think looks do make a difference, whether intentionally or not. people spend thousands on MCAT study courses (taught by not super qualified people) just to get an 'edge', so why not try to get an 'edge' in the interviews? btw, restylane lasts for a few months, so just one application and you're good for a whole application cycle!!

Mani/Pedis can be really relaxing too. But seriously, save your money for other application related things.

If it makes you feel relaxed and more confident, go for it.

What's the point of waxing eyebrows? To give them shape or something? Why not just pluck your extra hairs?

Well this is an interesting idea! I do not think I would want to though...

Because most male pre-meds don't have time for a female counterpart, duh 😉. There's no inherent ability to groom one's self if you're a male past showering and shaving.

I don't know if you have to go overboard OP, but just cut your nails yourself. Use hand lotion. Nothing else is necessary. You can ask who ever cuts your hair to thin your brows without actual waxing or plucking.

OP, you know how I know you're...nvm

Maybe not ear hair but nose hairs and eyebrows are a problem for the hairy dudes even at younger ages. Some guys have thick beards even though they are young. If you can grow a thick mustache it is likely you can grow a thick patch of fur in your nose. I take it you would keep a unibrow and nose patch for fear of someone considering you metro? .

The best way to get rid of a unibrow is for someone who knows what their doing to slap some wax on it and just get rid of it, problem solved in under a minute while at a salon. Also a lot of guys don't pay attention to the outside part of the brows and they start looking weird in that area as well.

What about a pedicure? I need to take care of my hobbit feet.

Post interview feedback: Eyebrows too bushy. Not a good fit.

Couldn't hurt.... Unless they do a terrible job. Go to a Korean or Vietnamese place 😛

You guys brows right? If i didnt I would have a mean ass unibrow. No shame at all in being a brow trimmer haha

Ear hairs? How ****ing old are you?

I have yet to come across a young guy with nose hair problems. and i already qualified the unibrow issue, so nice try.

if this is you:

then yes, you should get your eyebrows trimmed/waxed/whatever. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry.

I could see getting a manicure giving a confidence boost to a person.... So there's that.

I got a bikini wax just in case.

Unrelated side note: I am a guy.

It's important to look neat for an interview. Like the saying goes, first impressions last longer. However, when it comes to getting a brow wax and pedicure for a man, i feel you are just reading too much into the appearance issue. Look neat, nice hair cut, no unibrow and messy hairs sticky out and you should be good to go.

I bet he already uses plenty of that.

If you're gonna pluck/thread your eyes brows, tell them to clean it up. Don't arch it unless that's what you're into...
Arching your eyes brows can be a gamble. Most men have very masculine faces, so the arch will look weird. Again, do it if you're into that.

Manicure, I think is pushing it. Short, clean nails will be suffice. General rule for everything.

P.S another thing most men tends to forget is......Chap stick!!!!!!!

Dry, crack, bleeding, pale lips are unattractive (to me it is). No need for extra gloss or shine, but keep them moist. Vaseline, chap stick, Burt's bee will all work 🙂

Good luck on your interview! 🙂

How would you know if they had a problem if they took care of it? Ever think of that? huh? did you!?!?!!? EVER?

But if you DO have a unibrow then brow waxing is the way to go. Why would you want to pluck them one at a time? If you shave them they will start growing back quickly. Waxing is the best solution for the problem, gone in 10 seconds.

Quadruple post? Really?

Definitely no manicure... I pluck my eyebrows regularly though so I definitely make sure they look sharp come interview day.

Just make sure that you don't try anything new the day before your interview. 😉
