Any IMG in Quebec?

Hi!
I'm an Italian medical student in my last year...

I'm trying to find info about residency (pediatric) in Quebec because my girlfriend is moving there (Laval University) to do a PhD in biotechnology, so why not follow her?

All that I've read is AWFUL!!! Only about 5-10% of people that obtain the residency is an IMG?! Is it the truth?!

So, if there is an IMG that has obtained the residency in Quebec, PLEASE, could you report his story?

For example:

-Is it the truth that only in Quebec if you are an IMG, before doing the residency you have to pass MCCEE, MCCQEI and MCCQEII?

-Is it really so hard pass MCCEE, MCCQEI and MCCQEII for an IMG?

-Is it really so hard obtain the residency where you want or you must accept residencies that non IMGs doesn't wants?

Yes, it is true that you have to pass MCCEE, MCCQE1 et MCCQE2 before CaRMS application in order to get the equivalency recognition and be able to apply for a residency position in Quebec.

I am interested in how long this process is? Does someone can answer me. I consulted with Service de Sante du Quebec and they said me that it takes around 18 months. Is it a thru?
