didactics are integrated with OU's Tulsa peds program which are very good. more community based-- not a lot of hospital management. good progam if you want to be a community based pediatrician, not so good if you want to subspecialize or get into academia. (it's not impossible, just there are better programs out there.)

save yourself the trouble and apply to OU's program-- they're *very* DO friendly (OSU alum faculty, not to mention many OSU residents) and it's really a fantastic program-- large PICU that gets virtually all peds cases from that side of the state (and since there is no "peds ED" most ped trauma's go there, too), many specialists, and some great staff. would have been my first choice had i not been obligated to the military.

overall, allopathic peds (as most primary care specialties) is DO friendly. there are a few places that won't look at you, but 99% will at least give you an interview (if you are a strong applicant of course), which is all you really need. so don't think you are limited in your options.

:luck: lg2005,
I can't tell youtoo much other than I interviewed for St.Georges before I got into LECOM's post-bacc and the guy that interviewed me was a third year Peds resident at Miami Childrens.
All I can say is that he was very nice considering he was just done rounding after a night on call. To me it seemed like a very non-malignant program how he spoke of it.
Sorry I can't hepl more.

We had a grad go to Stanford peds last years match. C'mon man the field is wide open.

A DO is a bone doctor that must have his or her orders cosigned by allopathic medical students.
