Any interest in c/a psych subforum?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

Anyone think there's a need/want for a C/A subforum? Not sure how many c/a people are on here, or how many non-c/a people get something out of such discussions.

on another note, saw an adolescent on thorazine for severe aggression 2/2 ASD. Interestingly, it works really well.

I'd be interested, but do you think we need a sub forum? Would it generate enough traffic?

Interested !

Psychiatry Applicant 2016.

As a non-C/A person I'm interested in reading some C/A threads, so am glad for people to continue posting them in the main forum. That said I guess I could always browse the subforum.

I would love a sub forum for C/A. It keeps things better organized for my lurking pleasures and really don't see how there would be any down side. I'm sort of perplexed why the powers-that-be haven't done this before.

This was my main thought behind it -- all c/a topics would be nicely organized for your reading pleasure.

I would encourage the C/A subforum to be open for academic discussions. You'll likely want a lounge which is closed to allow for camaraderie and debriefing.

I would enjoy participating in a C/A forum as about half my patients fit into that category. It also seems that some of the younger kids that I work with tend to also be some of my more difficult cases for a number of reasons. Much more so than the teens who themselves can be difficult at times, but usually for more straightforward reasons.

Yes, I think it would be nice. I'm also treating a couple of kids with ASD on thorazine.

I'm about to finish my C/A fellowship, so I'd be interested in such a forum. We're different enough in our clinical work and job opportunities (I'm literally fighting off offer letters at the moment) that a separate forum would make sense. I also really need a space to vent about my 8 year old patient who recently answer the question, "Who's the president right now?" with "Trump." :nono:

Random question. Given the lack of C/A psychiatrists in the community, would there be any consequence for an adult psychiatrist to treat some C/A cases if you are up front that you are not C/A boarded or trained? Seems like lots of primary care physicians are already doing this without any problems.

Yes please!

I would be interested. But please no patients (including adult ones)!

I think we have a fair number of c/a types around. My main concern is like someone else echoed, that the non-C/A people benefit from seeing the C/A threads in the mix. a subforum can be setup as a 'mirror' where subforum topics appear in the general forum as well. That way, you click on the subforum and ONLY see C/A, but the same topics are still visible and available in the gen forum. This would be ideal, but I dunno if the SDN software supports it or if the admin would be up for it.
