It's my Senior year and I'm defiantly going into pharmacy, since I can't become a Pharmacy Tech until I graduate I was wondering if their was any jobs a 17 year old California Student do in a Pharmacy. I really want to get in their and get some experience and need the money. If not can I volunteer and where and do what? Thanks a LOt!🙂

The only job available for a high school student in the pharmacy is the clerk position. However, if you're doing a full day of classes, you might have a hard time finding an employer willing to allow such limited hours. I would suggest to look at volunteering in hospitals or at an independent pharmacy. Just call up places you're interested in and let them know of your intentions.

By clerk you mean running the register right? I wouldn't doing that is thier a limit to how many hours a HS student could do a week in California. I mean I have no problem doing 12 hour shifts on weekend's.

It actually depends on what state you live in. In MD (and most stated) Its is no more then 12 hours in a combo of school and work, and no more then 8 hours a day on a nonschool day/week. And you cant have more then 24 hours a week. And I know you have to be 18 to be a Tech

I looked on the Walgreen's website and see the job that I'd be able to get is, is a Service Clerk. Since I need a job anyway and it's close to my house should I apply to it? I doubt the Clerks get anywhere near the pharmacy but in a year form know I should have my Pharmacy Tech license.

So do you think that after a year of working their, they would give me job their as a P.T easily with an advantage to a person who hasn't worked their?(would it make a difference to their decision, has anyone else done this?)
Overall would it be to my advantage to work at Walgreen's or would it not make a difference.

Well, if you work there for a year as a clerk and you show them your serious about being a P.T. then any normal company would have no problem promoting you if there was an opening.

Being a P.T. is a great job getting out of high school considering maybe most of you freinds work as a cashier, clothing store, fast food, rest, etc..

Dose anyone know if theirs a minimum age to work as a clerk at Walgreen's?(turning 17 this Saturday)
I called them up a couple of hours ago and found out the manager work's from 9-5, I'm gonna go talk to her see if I can get the job. Any tips, this will be my fist job. Should I wear some dress pants and a shirt. Or should I go with some causal clothes? Thank's

Well first off, I dont think theres a minimum age for a clerk because all you do is "Man the regiser".

Secondly I would dress as nice as you can to impress the manager so you can give him a good impression.
