All I read about is UoP and this coast school vs that coast school. Can somebody, anybody gives pro's and con's to the dental schools west of the mississippi and east of the rockies?! Maybe see what some of the others have to offer/say about their schools. Colorado just now reviewed my application 3 months later so that school isn't exactly on the top of my list but Creighton, Iowa, Marquette, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Kansas City, etc. would be nice to hear about. C'mon Feedback...!

midwest is 😴😴😴

I know nothing about this part of the US.

midwest is 😴😴😴

One thing is for certain, nobody would dare say that the "midwest is 😴😴😴" 12,000 years ago. In fact, it would have been one of the most exciting places to be during the late pleistocene what with the herds of mastadon, wolly mammoth, jeffersonian mammoth, columbian mammoth, giant empirical mammoth, giant ground sloth, short-faced bears, american lions, american cheetahs, scimitars, smilodons and much much more...yeah😱!! Being a big megafauna buff myself, I always feel the nostalgic "awe" as I travel through the midwest and daydream on what used to be. Anyway...err...yeah, the dental schools are good too.

Hey, Chicago is in the midwest. Chicago is one the most happening cities in the country. If you haven't been to Chicago, it is a great place to visit on vacation as long as you don't visit in the winter.

If you love beer, bars, restaurants, live-music, and big time sports, Chicago is for you.

UIC and UMich are two great dental schools in the midwest. I know that there are other great dschools in the midwest, but those are the two that I'm hoping for.

Midwest is cool, it has a lot of perks, people actually care about people, unlike the coasts were people don't give a ****. I know I have lived in both. The south and midwest are very similar as far as people go.

Anyways I could go on and on, but the thread was initially about if anyone likes midwest schools.

By the way I like Nebraska....

I live here in Kansas City and I love it. However, I have lived here all my life - except for San Diego for a bit. I applied to Creighton (great school - almost 3K applicants), Nebraska - I have heard fantastic things but was not asked to interview (small class size - only 45), UMKC - my number one - I think it is a GREAT school but only has a contract with certain states (KS, MO, NM, and one other, and OU. At OU they have over 600+ applicants for 10 out of state spots.

Check pre-dents for more info. GL!

LOL - you guys crack me up. The midwest is NOT that bad. I've lived in the midwest, San Francisco, Paris, and Buenos Aires so I've been exposed to small and big cities and small ones have a lot to offer. It kind of depends on what you are looking for. Remember that these schools will be in the bigger cities in these states, so you'll have a little bit of everything. It's not like you're going to be throwing cow patties for fun. Although I haven't been to Omaha I have friends that have been there and thought it was great. They've put a ton of money into OKC to make it fun with new restaurants and bars. Kansas City is really fun and a pretty city. Here are some pros 1. Living expenses will be WAY cheaper than in a big city which means you won't be in as much debt when you graduate 2. Easy to get around. You'll definitely want a car since pub trans is NOT like it is in a big city, but if you have a car it's super easy and really fast. 3. It's true - people are really, really nice. 4. Did I mention that living is MUCH cheaper : )
