I interviewed on November 29th, and they said we should hear in the beginning of January. Anyone else with a late interview heard from them?

Every day that passes, my hopes of getting an acceptance this cycle dwindle...

Call Braulia Espinosa or Carolyn Feller, they are very nice, and ask them about your case. Also, let them know how interested you are to attend UIC.

Do you know the numbers of either one? The admissions office # goes straight to voicemail. Thanks!

I interviewed with them October 27th and still haven't heard anything from them. However I am out of state and live literally 400 miles away lol. Im probably their 2nd,3rd tier choice

I interviewed there on November 18 and received a phone call acceptance on December 1. I am also OOS but I would definitely say to call and leave a message, Braulia and Carolyn typically call back the same day and are very helpful about where they are in the process.

Just called now and talked to Carolyn. Basically got something to the extent of "you shouldn't have called, you're just wasting our time" and that any and all notifications would be coming through AADSAS and got hung up on.

Not a very pleasant experience.

Ouch. I'm really sorry about that. Applicants shouldn't be snubbed when they express interest, but that seems to be the case with UIC unfortunately.

Fortunately, I don't think that it should hurt me in the admissions game. It sounded as if she was getting a lot of similar phones calls and started reeling off a pretty scripted answer into the details of my situation-- telling me that there were a lot of applicants, and that not everyone gets an interview, etc. I said that I had an interview in late November and was just curious to see if anything had changed, and then for some reason she started telling me that "I hope you didn't put all your eggs in one basket," and that "it would be wise to apply to more than one school." (I have no clue where this came from, maybe to temper disappointment from a pending rejection, but this seems totally out of left field considering they don't know how many schools I applied to)

The phone call ended pretty soon after that, but in her haste she did mention that only half the class was full. I don't think she got my name, even, or any specifics of my situation. It was pretty curt.

Just wait till it's May and you haven't gotten a waitlist letter or a denial and when you call in to prepare your app for next year they'll tell you that you have a chance.

I agree I dont think it hurts your chances. Every program that doesn't give the courtesy of a mass status update email should expect to get bombarded with emails and phone calls. It's not hard to write an email that tells everyone when decisions will be made. These programs are lazy imho.

Yes, very end of November. Was accepted a few weeks ago and just ended up taking my sweet time picking between UIC and SIU.
