Any news on Buffalo alternate list?

Just wondering if any of you have any updates on their alternate list. Have they started reviewing people from there yet? Is the class full yet?

They likely told you this in the interview, but in case they didn't, I will. There is always a lot of movement with the seats and the deposit is still refundable. As people turn the school down or choose to go elsewhere seats will open and that means that people on the alt list will get an invite. As of a few weeks ago, there were still seats and even if there weren't, seats will still open up. it sucks, but all you can do is wait and keep your fingers crossed.

i interviewed a couple of weeks ago and received a waitlist letter and update on AADSAS

I called the office today, and the person said not to expect any movement until May! Man the wait is just killing me 🙁.

I don't understand why we have to wait until april or May, because the people that they just recently accepted have an upcoming deposit deadline well before May, so shouldn't they re-evaluate the alternate list then? From my phone conversation they made it sound like they don't re-review that list until after second deposits and May.

Maybe the adcom doesn't have time to meet as often or maybe they over extend acceptances knowing not everyone will accept so in reality they give enough to book the class so spots actually don't open til may?

Also did anyone find out where they are ranked on the list?

i was told that someone was pulled off the waitlist within the past few days. i heard this from the dentist i shadow, she has another person shadow her whose friend was taken off the waitlist..so fingers crossed everyone.

Hey rjs38, is this person in-state (New York)? Also, does anyone know if Buffalo gives preference to in-state students off the waitlist? And lastly, if anyone got called off the waitlist recently, please let us know!

pretty sure he/she is in-state, i highly doubt they give much preference to in-staters off the waitlist seeing as how they don't give preference to in-staters for regular acceptance.

any clue on if they have been waitlisted since december or are a more recent wait listee? The letter and the office staff said not to expect news until May so it's interesting someone has been pulled off recently. I wonder if they were just lucky or we can expect to hear some more good news before May/April?

i'm not sure as to where s/he was on the list, i also found it curious that this person was taken off it so early based on what i've been told timewise so idk how true this entire thing is but i really believe the person i heard it from, i just don't know how trustworthy the person she heard it from is.
