Hey guys...just wanted to know if any NYU students are on this forum.........have you guys rcvd housing info yet? started filling out the FAFSA?

Has anyone heard from NYU regarding financial aid?? I think some deadlines are coming up! 😛

Hey Regina...i think your right about being the only NYU'rs on this site...anyhow, i called NY and they will be sending out housing stuff in april..and i am going to do the Fafsa this weekedn...is it easy? how long does it take? what am i gonna need for it? just curious cuz i heard it takes forever....as far as financial aid stuff, i think you just have to sit and play the waiting game after submitting the fafsa...they will send you stuff after 6-8 wks... 🙂 are you gonna go ck out the school again? 😀

Hey Sonigee! I might be right behind you in the NYU cafeteria line... just kind of waiting since I still have a few questions about it. Not sure whether to do the NYU thing or the BU thing... hmmm... what do you think?

Did you ever file FAFSA before? If so, it will be a breeze. I did mine online using my Renewal form from last year as a guide and only updating the financial info.

If not, it will take some time. YOu need all of your income/tax return info, and if you don't have that, you have to estimate. It is a lot quicker to file it online too. Mine took awhile because I had to do all of my parents info, so if you don't need that, it will take some time off. Should take a half hour or so.

I plan on visiting again maybe in March and checking out the housing, working on some financial aid, and just checking out the school in gerenal again b/c I've gotten all of the schools I've been to pretty much mixed up. Are you planning on another trip??

i am totally in the same boat as you, bu vs ny...i am choosing ny for the same reasons as regina,..basically the clinical aspect...i talked to a couple ny students last nite and most of them were like, choose your 2nd choice..but i talked to some that said, you just have to work hard..the ppl that complain at NY are the ppl that leave lab after attendance is taken..you have 3 hrs to complete lab and only 5 out of the 50 students actually stay there and utilize that time to study the cadavers! so i think that if you want to learn & you put in the time then you will! + you'll be in NYC baby🙂
the ppl i talked to there still kick it on the weekends, which is awesome...as far as the dorms..you know, dorms are dorms..so don't expect luxury....however, i had a regional interview for bu,so i didn't go to boston, and i am thinking i shoudl go check out the city so i don't regret not going to see it before making my decision..the facilities at bu are beautiful..gbut w/o diversity of patients, whats the point? i am hoping that the bu students tell me that lack of patients isn't true..but i will keep you posted on that..

no i am not planning on gonig back to NY until orientation...but i will be doing the dorm thing...just make sure to fill out the housing stuff as soon a syou get it..thats what i was told..aren't you excited🙂 let me know how your revisit goes, and also what advice the dental students give you🙂)

hey guys

this is so cool, there is a place where i feel right at home. i'm like most of you here, stuck between nyu and bu, but really leaning towards nyu!! the price tag for both of theses schools are similar, but you can get more in the four years at ny. i had a question regarding our fafsa form. do you have to fill out the parent's income section on the form for nyu? does everyone here plan on staying in the dorms the first year?
