Ahh I have a terrible case! I've pretty much stopped doing homework at this point and instead I just hang out with friends and go to the gym. Fun, yes, good for my grades, no. Anyone else? How do you beat it? Should I beat it?

Uh, *raises hand*. I still keep up with my schoolwork, but the drive is gone. I see no point in trying to destroy everything in my academic path when the major goal I've been working on for the past few years has been reached. In addition, I'm only taking two courses (+ research), so its not like I'm eyes-deep in assignments. I'm attempting to enjoy my free time, but it's not in my personality. I can't justify getting used to being lazy when I know next year I'll be going all-out.

I would kill to find something to do that would contribute to my residency competitiveness. I've always found that I'm far more happy chasing goals than reaching them. I can't start chasing anything till the summer. *sigh*
 
i have senoritis, and i graduated a couple of years ago...
 
I had a case of something like senioritis, and there was a very clear decrease in my productivity in lab, until about last week. Then I came to the sudden and shocking realization that I have about 8 weeks to finish analyzing (and hopefully writing up for publication) two and a half years worth of data. That sort of lit a fire under my butt.

Still spending way more time at the gym, with friends, reading for pleasure and playing ultimate than I did before I had an acceptance in hand though. I'm trying to enjoy it, but I like working towards a goal too.
 
I'm so lazy now, I can't be bothered to call for delivery when I get hungry. Instead, I just lie on my bed and just get hungrier and hungrier.
 
Oh, I know that website already. I'm too lazy to go there though, even when I'm on SDN posting... I've got it pretty bad 🙁 😛
 
Can't really afford to get senioritis till my thesis is due in about a month... :scared:
 
Everybody seems to be writing a thesis...just out of curiosity, how long are all your guy's thesis supposed to be, double-spaced not counting references...
 
I didn't think I had senioritis until the other day...I went in cold to a biochem exam and walked out with a 72. My normal reaction would have been suicide, but instead I just stared at the paper and said "huh." I then proceeded to throw the paper away, put on my iPod and cranked the volume knob until it went click. I can't figure out if it's senioritis or deep-seated repression I am dealing with, but yeah, I'm getting lax.

Loved this story! I think you definitely have a case of senioritis.

Tell me about it. I'm starting to think senior spring is overrated. At any rate, it's not going to begin for the likes of us until April or so.

Well, you have company, Pickles. 🙂 Somehow this semester has ended up being one of my toughest yet academically, if not the toughest; plus I have a thesis to write, and I'm giving up my spring break to write it.

Apropos of this thread, I'm also well on my way to flunking a physical chemistry test in about 8 hours... so I should get back to cramming. 🙁

All you have to do is pass! Thats been my motto so far this semester, and it has suited me well 😀
 
true that my brother. I barely do homework, lab reports? lol, ya, you wish. Whereas last semester my lab reports averaged around 30pages, this semester, I barely manage 20. Life does change but I realize that this span from now until approximately July 1st is all we have left. From that point on, we go long and hard (that's what she said) for the next 7-8+ years. Live a little now, we didn't do it for our entire undergrad lives. We always went to bed, said no to that next drink, turned down hackey sack, got kicked out of the library for staying past closing time...let this time be your own, indulge, enjoy.
 
spring break = 20-25 pages of thesis time
 
Yeah - my spring break is shot but what I was really referring to is the lack of summer va-ca
 
I think our basketball team has senioritis.

I'm facing this prospect as well, but the more i think about it, the more i realize it matters very little in the long run. This does not mean i can give up on my Spanish Lit paper, when I am only half way done at 4am the morning it is due...I at least need something to hand in. Wow, i cannot bring myself to focus on this.

yeah i need to start that

my task for the weekend...although I have until the 18th to hand in the thesis that is exactly zero pages long
