Any one for Idaho State University

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I applied around mid Oct and they confirmed that my applications was completed and that's it. Did not hear anything more...Probably cause my stat is not good and I'm non-Idaho resident.

Yeah same thing for me aswell, i checked their site and says all items received but nothing till this day. I think they interview early to late march. I will take the cold for lack of a huge debt. I applied in early oct.

I applied also....I think they hold interviews in Feb/Mar so we probably won't hear from them until sometime in January.

Good Luck to everyone!!😀

I applied early too. Hoping to hear something soon, interviews at other schools that require a deposit, and don't really want to throw money away. They only have 60 spots 51 for in-state, and last years average gpa was 3.6, sounds pretty competative. What kind of stats do those of you who applied have?

Just to let everyone know....I talked to a gal in admissions and she said they will not send out invites until after the deadline which is in February. She said we will not hear until about mid-February.

Good luck....and the waiting is upon us!!! 😀

I am Out of state, applied right before deadline. No letters, no nothing.
Anyone know what the Out of state acceptance rate and cut off scores?

The deadline was only a couple of days ago (Feb 1st). You probably won't get a letter about an interview or rejection until almost the end of the month - maybe by the 20th or so if you're lucky. Interviews are typically right before and after Spring Break - and ISU's Spring Break doesn't start until 3/22. (The interviews may be earlier this year - we haven't heard the official word yet).

As to acceptance, ISU heavily favors in-state students. Typically there are 8-10 out of state students in each class of 60. Plus, there tend to be many more out of state applicants than in-state applicants. The average GPA of the past few incoming classes has been >3.6. If you do a little searching, I posted some acceptance stats for the class of 2009 and 2010 about a year ago. I don't mean to discourage you at all, but I just wanted to give you the reality.

Good luck in whatever you do, though! :luck: I'm very happy to be at ISU. We have a very tech-forward school and I feel like I'm getting a pretty darn good education.

And now, I need to get back to writing up both a PHARME and a journal club. Yay!

I applied my stats are 3.66 gpa, 3.6 science, 7000 technician hours, and in state status. What about you guys?

FYI - I just got an e-mail from the admissions committee saying that interviews will be held from 2/27-3/14 this year. :luck: So expect letters soon.

Actually, if your mother lives in Idaho, you could have applied as an in-state student. Idaho's residency laws are pretty lax - if you have a parent that is an Idaho resident, even if you receive no support from them and haven't lived in Idaho for 20 years, you can still claim residency through your parent. It sounds crazy, but it's true. It's how I was able to apply as an Idaho resident, even though I had lived in Texas for two years.

Here's a link to the residency requirements: http://www.isu.edu/enroll/admissions/forms/reslaw.pdf

The exact section says:

A Resident Student is:
A. Any student who has one (1) or more parent or parents or court appointed guardians who are domiciled in the state of Idaho. Domicile, in the case of a parent or guardian, means that individual's true, fixed and permanent home and place of habitation. It is the place where that individual intends to remain, and to which that individual expects to return when that individual leaves without intending to establish a new domicile elsewhere. To qualify under this section, the parent, parents or guardian must have maintained a bona fide domicile in the state of Idaho for at least one (1) year prior to the opening day of the term for which the student matriculates.

A.1. One (1) year is interpreted as twelve (I 2) consecutive months immediately preceding the opening date of the term for which resident status is sought.

You might be able to contact the admissions office to let them know that you are an in-state student. You'll greatly boost you chances of acceptance.
