Is anyone else out there applying to med school a practicing, licensed acupuncturist? Or for that matter, another type of "alternative" provider. I'm wondering what kind of reception/interest there has been. Thanks.

I've applied to 3 Carib schools (wanted to "save" time) back in 2004. Got in all 3. I'm L.Ac, but also have 15 yrs of being an RN under my belt. They were a lot more interested in that. But in my "acupuncture physical medicine" training I've come across many osteopathic conceps, taught to us by D.Os. I think if decide to go D.O route they may take a little more interest in your background, provided you have your bases covered in the rest of your app.

Are you attending DO school in the Caribbean? I've actually applied to 9 allopathic schools and want to go that route - just got my MCAT scores in so am waiting to hear about interviews.

There are no DO schools in the Caribbean. They're all in the US.

I was going to ROSS U in Dominica, WI. What I was saying if you apply in U.S consider D.O. schools too. What I was saying is I was trying to save some time, and din't bother applying to neither allo nor osteo route, which was pretty dumb on my part. Where do you practice? Why medicine?

This is AMAZING, 😱 I really thought I was a one of a kinder here as an LAc. I graduated from Yosan in LA, and have been finishing a post-bacc at Cal State LA, and will apply in 2006.

I started a thread about a month or so back asking about interest in Naturopathic med, just because I was intersted, and got a mixed response of positive and negative as would be expected. Have you applied??
