1) You are interviewed in the standardized patient rooms.
2) There wasn't a table, so all your gestures are visible.
3) I was asked several ethical questions.
4) Come with multiple questions to ask the interviewers. Many of them will already be answered during the information sessesions beforehand
5) It is a relaxed interview, there's a good chance of acceptance from an interview
6) Bring a pad of paper and a pen.
7) They will ask about pointed questions about your grades, MCAT, and motivation to enter medical school and why DO?
8) Do not let the outward appearance of the school deter you.
9) Most of all, RELAX! BREATHE!

Also note that the entire morning is mostly spent in Bartlett Theater, where you listen to numerous speakers talk about... whatever... then you watch a movie about COMP starring Noah Wiley, then you wander around campus with a guide, then you eat lunch, then you FINALLY sit around outside the faculty offices until your name is called to interview.

If you're the type that gets more and more nervous as time goes on, you may want to bring something to do, iPod, etc...

And lastly, my interview was in one of the faculty offices with table and such (good for hiding bouncy knees). I was not asked any ethics questions, and it was a very casual interview.

Good luck, don't sweat the interview!

mine was very relaxed. it was also in an office, in comfy chairs, one on one. half of the time we chatted about random stuff not pertaining to medical school. some of my questions were:

-why osteopathy?
-why COMP?
-what's the biggest social problem facing today's society?
-an ethical question
-name 5 strenths/weaknesses
-what are my goals in life

that's pretty much it, hope that helps. good luck!

That sounds very simliar to my interview. It was one on one with a PhD in pharmacology. I was the last to be interviewed, and I believe it started about 30 minutes (great to let the nerves build). It was very relaxed, I am currently getting a master's in biomedical sciences, and I noticed he had that circled on my application. I had a few repeat/deletes and W drops, but he didn't ask anything about those. He was quite complementary of my application, and I went out of there feeling very confident. I tell you this because I want you to know that the interview is very laid back!!!! Just be honest, be yourself, and you will be fine! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

thanks you guys....as you probably know this information is so good to know before i get there....so again I thank you all for posting....

A lot of this can be found on the SDN interview postings. (Questions that were asked, the process of the interview day, travel and hotel information.) It is probably nice to get some input from recent interviewees though 🙂 They seem to be very fair. They compliment you on what they deem to be your strengths and ask questions about your weaknesses. Best of luck!

No problem at all. Glad to offer advice. For those life or death ethical questions, always remember and stand by the hippocratic oath. They love to hear it 🙂.
