Any other future CSPM students?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I thought that it was VERY worth while. Not only do you learn about CSPM but you also get a lot of question answered about podiatry. I would also recommend taking those that might be supporting you while in school. It will give them an idea of what you will be doing not only in school but also your career.

Thank you, how many undergrads would you say there were at the dinner cuz I would be going there from arizona. Thanks for answers.

I was lucky because they traveled to my state and had a dinner. It was only about an hour to get to it. I would say there were 20 undergrads with their parents and or spouse. Where is the dinner going to be?

Email.

Let us know what happens!! Good luck!

Okay, so I got accepted a week ago and I just send my deposit. What is next?? do they send you an email with more information? I am excited!!! 🙂😀

Awesome!! Join our Facebook page.

They will send you the email with a list of things they need for enrollment. They have an academic schedule posted on the site but have yet to put out a class schedule. I imagine that they will send out emails the closer we get to summer.

It was through email.

That kinda sucks though. I would rather wait the extra day and get a formal notification by mail. Because I even kept my acceptance letter to MSU undergrad because it was a defining moment for me.

To me it would sentimental value to actually get a typed letter mailed to you and the first words you see are "Congratulations on being accepted into .... podiatry program"

It is much better than flipping through your emails and the biggest notification of your life (up until now) is just a simple email saying Congratulations, you have been accepted.

I would MUCH rather get an email than wait a few more days for a letter. Also, wouldn't it be horrible if it got lost in the mail and the class filled up before you could put down a deposit? I just printed mine. In fact an email was better for me because I forwarded it to my family. They were all so excited.

What if you lived in New York and another student lived in Nevada and there was 1 slot open. If the two letters are sent out the same day who would get the letter first? Isn't that a little unfair?

I wonder if your undergrad is still sending out hard copies. The majority of schools are trying to be more eco-friendly.

I concur!

Yeah probably correct. But as long as they send like a PDF of the acceptance then that'd be okay as well so then you can print it. And again, that was 4yrs ago I got accepted into Undergrad.

...or I would want the email first to know if you got in so then you can accept it quickly. Then have them sound out a letter with the formal University logos and envelope and you already know what to expect. So just act like it is Christmas morning and you are getting an acceptance into the college of dreams. Ironically for me, my acceptance to MSU came on Christmas Eve, so it kinda was close to opening up an acceptance letter thinking it is Christmas morning

But I do agree that due to the "eco-friendly" society we are living in lots of places will use emails over postal carriers. Also the point of receiving it quicker and that scenario are very valid points.

For those individuals who are already attending CSPM, I have two questions:

1. Where do most of the students live?
2. Where are the clinical rotations?
I'm a current first year student at CSPM.
1) Most of my class lives in either Alameda, Berkeley, or Emeryville. All three are close to Oakland and nice.
2) Starting your second year you start clinical rotations. We rotate through 8 clinics. The clinics are either in Oakland or San Francisco. Then starting your 3rd year your rotate through more clinics, which are most spread out, but mostly in San Francisco or Oakland.

Hope this helps.

How many clerkships are possible at CSPM?

From your post in the clerkship forum I can see you got your answer. I was thinking 5-6 but I couldn't understand how the schedule worked out. Thanks for posting what your friend told you.

Interview this week? Great!! I recommend the calzone for lunch. It was SUPER good.
