Any point in sending in my checks if I haven't taken the DAT yet?

I'm taking it in August, would it make a difference if I just sent my checks in after the test?

Yeah, it might be a good idea to wait. Checks are not refundable, so if the scores reduced your chances at certain schools you may not want to gamble your money. It's up to you, but personally I'd wait.

I wouldn't wait. It takes a lot of schools weeks to cash your check and most of them don't consider your application complete until they cash it and they won't review your file. So you'll be even later as an applicant if you wait and might miss out on some interview opportunities.

In the AADSAS book Detroit Mercy says it will start review of your application without DAT scores. Though this is rare I would assume schools will except a fax copy of your DAT, you do not want to be held up for a week if not 4 weeks because you sent your check after taking the DAT.

I have only seen one school (from those i applied to) that flat out says it does not accept faxed DAT for review on their website (Louisville)

BTW, when I send checks, the name and address I mail to is the name and address that's listed when we click on the Supplemental Information icon in the Dental School Designations tab right?

One more thing:

We should be including our AADSAS ID with every one of these checks right? Should we be including any other information?

Yes, mail checks to the address on the WEBSITE. In several cases I have seen the address differs (slightly) from the supplemental page on AADSAS.

Also, some schools will want you to include your SSN, name, 2x2 photo, etc with the check. Check every school's website. You can glean much more info from the school's admissions website than from their actual supplemental page on AADSAS.

BTW, it says where to send the check in that same line that says for how much...towards the bottom...that's a complete address.
