any recent news from UCLA regarding secondary?

I emailed them about one week ago about not hearing from them regarding a secondary or rejection since 8/22 but they haven't replied. I didn't want to call because I keep getting the same monotone guy who tells me: "you're getting reviewed." Six months to review someone for a secondary? Just reject me for good's sake!

Honestly I think something went wrong and I should've heard from them, good or bad. Anyone out there feel the same? Lets write UCLA a letter and co-sign it expressing our concern. I'm sure there's at least five of us that submitted our primary back in the ice age but haven't heard squat. I'm serious about putting together an effort and writing a letter expression our concern.

I'm in the same boat. My status check has said that they received my application was complete on 9/1/01. When I called last week, they said I was in the group being reviewed in the next 2 weeks. I'm not sure if that meant I have not been reviewed yet for a secondary or if I have been but am being reviewed again. I'm not sure if it's the truth or whatever, but I'm not really going to push it. What's the latest anyone has received a secondary from UCLA?

I don't want to push it myself, but I was told the exact same think you were told MONTHS ago, including that whole bit about it taking two weeks and what not.

Also, the same monotone dude told me they were sending out secondaries through the end of Feb. Only three to four days left in this month.

I have taken their reluctance to send me a secondary by now as a rejection.... but if I happen to get a secondary... then that is a bonus.... but not expecting much more from them.

I was told in December that all decisions regarding secondaries would be completed by the end of January. I called recently and I got the monotone guy and he was vague and basically said that my application is under review still.

I have given up. I just graduated from UCLA and they are showing no loyalty.... and it is not like I am unqualified to attend their med school... actually... most people would think that this is a freak fluke considering the interviews that I have received so far.

But not going to do anything about it. Sorry!

I'm willing to bet everybody who hasn't had an aplication has been reviewed at least once. I called them in December asking them what was the status of my app, and they told me that they reviewed it once and decided not to send me a secondary yet. She said it would be reviewed again sometime. Then I got the secondary two weeks later. So my guess is anybody who turned in the UC app very early, it is not a good sign and your app has probably been reviewed at least 2 times.
