Has anybody had Sallie Mae approve (AND disburse) your loan within the last 90 days?
I've had an application in with them for a Private Medical School Loan for 60 days and they are dragging their feet like nothing I've seen before. I had to qualify credit-wise (which was no problem), it had to be certified by my school (which was done almost immediately), then they wanted a Cost of Attendance (COA) worksheet from the school which showed a breakdown of justification for the additional funds (also done fairly quickly). Now, they've said the worksheet isn't enough and they need further information (cost breakdown) from the school. I've seen the worksheet and it accurately enumerates the expenses only falling slightly short of line-item entry of every gas, hotel, airfare, Wal Mart, etc. charge with attached receipts.
What is the deal? Are they putting all loans in a holding pattern until the DOE decides which of the six lenders will be utilized in the Direct Loan structure?
I'd be interested in hearing if anybody else has had similar experiences.
