Hey All,

So here's my situation. I'm pre-med and currently a senior and will be graduating in about a week (yay!). I would love to apply for the 2012 cycle but I don't have an MCAT score yet so I'll probably have to wait until next year. Looking to take that beast this summer and don't want to rush it (only want to take it once).

I have a lot of time to do something since I kind of have a 2 year gap (assuming I apply next year for admission in 2013). I've looked into a few SMPs and Post-bac programs but most of them require a score of some kind and I don't have that. I'm okay academically but could be better (sGPA of around 3.55, cGPA around 3.6) so I'm not too worried about that.

So I was wondering if y'all had any ideas of what programs I can apply to. I know many deadlines have already passed but this wasn't something that I was thinking about until recently. Definitely will be working on getting some more experience this next year as far as shadowing and volunteering goes but want to also do something academic.

Any feedback or advice would be great! Thanks guys 😀

P.S. I should probably add that one of the reasons I'm trying to do such a program is that I need more experience, I want to get a chance to get better recommendations.

Thnx QtrLifeCrisis.

That does help. I get what you're trying to say. I think taking upper-level classes may be out of the question. I'm a Health Science major and took many upper-level science classes (those are actually what boosted my sGPA) so I think I should maybe think about research. Never really looked into that in the past. I go to a really small school and there are never any spots available.

Where do you suggest I try and look for a research position? Since I'm kind of in the middle now, not undergrad or grad, where do you suggest I look? I'm sure summer research is not an option anymore because deadlines are over but I do have the next year open.
