any strategies for pattern folding??!

Ok i am totally doing horrible on pattern folding and angle ranking, can someone tell me some strategies to use?! i keep getting 18 and 19s on the CDP, please help!

Search angle ranking on SDN as you've come across the laptop & hill method. I never really used any technique for pattern folding, I had to visualize the structures flipping around.

take problems, screenshot them, enlarge them, print them out and cut out ------> visualize yourself on how it folds, it will seem a lot easier after a while

hmmmm. I think this would need some visualization. I personally would practice on the real paper, fold, punch hole and try to visualize and see if the answer matches with your prediction. Through the practice with real paper , see the pattern of folding and how what position gets the hole each time you unfold it.

I don't think the OP is asking about hole punches, but pattern folding instead.

This is my approach and I usually score 14/15 or 15/15 on CDP...

Pick an answer choice and start matching it up with the original pattern to see if it works or not.

If it doesn't, then eliminate and try another answer choice.

As soon as you find one that works, then you have your answer.

Of course, sometimes you luck out and the first answer choice happens to be the correct one. Sometimes you don't find the correct one until the last answer choice. And once in a while it sucks when you get to the last answer choice and it's still not the correct one. Then you have to start over.
