As far as I understand, medical schools are pretty lax about when you apply to the Masters in MD/MPH or MD/MS programs. Is there any benefit to marking your intention to apply for a combined degree on AMCAS or secondaries for schools that are less likely to accept you that have strong programs in the intended MPH or MS? Essentially you would be giving these schools a stronger "why us" answer. Also would it help if the intended MS or MPH was in a less MD saturated field - say Health Informatics vs Health Policy for example.

Not necessarily. You have show us you can pass your first year of classes to access it. More importantly, how do those added degrees add to your purpose as a physician?
