Hey just wondering if anyone has heard from MUSC? I saw on predents that one has an interview but havent heard anything from anyone about them. Anyone know when invites are going out?

Hi Quaz - I interviewed at MUSC last Friday. I got the invite about 3 weeks prior and my application cycle was 7/2.

Also is it true that the new clinic they opened is substantially increasing the class size this go round?
I am in-state. The interview was really relaxed and I enjoyed it. The new clinic is AWESOME! The class size was increased to 70 with this year's class and will remain at that number for next year. I'm not sure what the ratio to IS and OOS is now with the new class size. The question was brought up about whether the new slots were for OOS students and we were told they were distributed among both groups.

I applied to the DMSTP combined DMD/PhD program and I really hope I get in. There is a dental day on October 8th...anyone planning on going? I am planning on going and can't wait to see the new clinics!👍

I applied to MUSC and they received all my stuff around August 10th and haven't heard anything from them since...but it wasn't really in my top choice of schools and I am OOS so I won't be angry if nothing becomes of it 🙄.
Im sure more OOS ppl will hear more soon. I personally just started my app (yeah late I know). But I am going to visit the school and I'll be sure to leave some feedback about the dantal day.
I also really would love to go to school in Charleston and am hoping for an invite in a month or so

I just ran across this thread and I am a first year here at MUSC right now. The ratio is 53:17 IS:OOS I believe. Many of my classmates had to apply more then once and the DAT stats for last year were 19AA and 21PAT with an average GPA of 3.52 I believe. Just a little insight...

yes, the class size is bigger. you generally won't hear about your interview until 2 weeks before they send you an invite, so hang in there.
has anyone recently gotten interviews? I am starting to get worried.. When is the next interview date? And what are the avg stats for last years entering class. Someone posted on another blog that it was 17 AA and 19 Perceptual. I don't know which ones true!

The true stats are what I listed a few posts above. They gave us those when we came in
Just got a call from Bill Liner yesterday.. Got an interview scheduled for Dec 3rd... The next closest time i assume.
Nice! MUSC is one of my top choices. I'm still holding out hope for the DMSTP, but I don't think I will hear anything until next month or January 🙁
