I go back and forth between these two, and I'm curious if anyone else interviewed at both, and how they felt they stacked up against each other.
The two programs are about the same size, but CHLA had a bigger "feel" to me -- larger ward teams, lots of fellows around, etc. That being said, everyone seemed very nice and I didn't get the impression that residents felt like they were cogs in the machine. UCLA seemed a little more informal, and I thought the residents were able to "live" better than at CHLA (nicer part of the city, higher salary, no one living in dorms).
Thoughts?
