Hey, I am not applying this year, but am a 2006 Scholar. Be aware that the Truman Foundation does not consider straight up med school and practicing medicine for a for-profit hospital/clinic etc to be public service. It really needs to be obvious in your application how you would use the scholarship to further your goals in what THEY define as public service, and why medical school is necessary since you will be in the minority as far as your graduate school plans among Trumans. (I think there were around 8 in our group of 77 that wanted to go to med school, as compared to maybe 45 who wanted to do a JD). They really like dual degree programs for medically related applicants like MD/MPHs, MD/JDs, etc.
That said, I can't say enough about how awesome the other Trumans are. Good Luck =)
