I don't know if they still have this program at UF, but I graduated a few years ago with an IDS (Interdisciplinary Studies) degree in Bio/Psych called Neuroscience - Cellular and Molecular Track. I'm wondering about my Neuroscience classes on the AMCAS. I listed them as Bio, but I hope that AMCAS doesn't change them to Psych since they are offered from the Psych dept. Anyone know anything about this? If AMCAS does change it, can I appeal their decision? I definitely want these classes included in my bcpm.
Also, my transcript only says my BS was in IDS - it doesn't say Bio/Psych or Neuroscience or anything. Is AMCAS going to question it when I list my major as Neuroscience? Thanks for any help you can give me.

what were the classes about? If they were psych based, then you probably shouldn't include them. If they are neuroscience classes about the biology of the brain, then I would def. include them in the bio section. I was a neuroscience major myself (not at UF though), and I included the biology oriented classes as bio and the psych ones as psych.

They were definitely bio classes - all fell into the "Cellular and Molecular" category of Neurosci. Since UF doesn't have a Neurosci undergrad dept, the classes fell under the psych dept, with the prefix PSB (Psychobio) and the major was considered interdisciplinary. I'm just worried how AMCAS will see it - I don't want them to assume they are psych classes since they are offered from the psych dept.

I know some people on here insist that the class needs to be filed by the department name (ie: psych dept. classes can't be biology). I filed the classes according to the subject of the class and ran into no problems. I had some psych classes that were bio based or math based, filed them as bio and math, and no one ever said anything. I think you should be fine.

Thanks so much for your help! I need those As in my bcmp!
