Hey there,

I'm a new member and curious to see if any other members are engineering majors. I'm a senior mechanical engineering major at University of Houston in Houston. I am still undecided about pursuing medical school because there are many prerequisites that I do not have completed. I would more than likely take those on a part time basis after graduation versus staying a full time student since I am so near graduation. I lack Organic chemistry I & II and all Biology courses. Anyways, if there are any other engineering students that are planning on going to med school, post up.

Also, I use this SN on several other car related message boards and want to keep the same SN.😀

I'm an undergrad engineering major at Purdue, have already taken the required premed classes and the MCAT, and will be applying to schools this summer. PM if you wanna talk more.

i am also an me major, but i am only a freshman. i would need the same pre-reqs as you plus 1/2 of a semester of chem. i have no idea when to fit in the pre-reqs either

My B.S. is in Civil Engr. However, I am currently a graduate chemistry student....all I initially lacked in pre-req's were the chemistry sequences.

i'm a nuclear engineer, about ready to graduate college. i had to catch up my last couple years in school to meet the prerequisites, but everything is working out okay.

. . . those biology prerequisites are a pain to complete. not hard, just many hours.

I am an engineer from Univ. of Michigan, finishing my last year, and have an acceptance to Mt. Sinai School of Medicine for fall 2003!

I would be happy to give any engin pre-meds advice,.... it's all about getting good advice and staying on track 😉

i have an undergrad and master's in aerospace eng from auburn and just started taking post-bac classes to catch up on the org chem, biology, etc. i forgot what it was like to have so many dang labs!
only thing about taking them part time after you graduate is that if you go to work, most engineering jobs are still pretty traditional (8-5, mon-fri) so it can be difficult to get time off to take classes. you probably already know this anyway, but that seems to be a big challenge for me lately.

I am engineer with MS degrees. One of them is in biomed. ; so I have done courses related to biomed engineering including physiology and physiology lab. I plan to take two basic courses thru' AP and one organic chem thru' AP. I have done chem in undergrad and lots of phy courses at grad level [EE]. I just do not feel like going back to formal classes.
I am a non-traditional applicant [for 2005].
