when did you hear from unlv? how? when did you apply? You're the first person to say theyve landed an ninterview there i think...

The dental school is about a 3/4 of a mile from the main part of the strip. it is NOT on the UNLV main campus, it is on charleston and I-10 next to Univ. Medical Center.

From the airport, a cab could take 10 minutes (no traffic) to 45 mins (usual traffic). go figure.

ya i just called them today sep 22 to ask about my status and they said i am one of the first that they gave an interview to.

Just to be more clear, the dental school is on Charleston and I-15, about 10-20 minutes from the airport (10 no traffic, 20 with...except of course at rush hour). The campus is only about 4 miles from the airport and 3 or so from the strip.

So you called UNLV? They didnt email or mail you an interview invite? Did they say how many they have invited for interviews?

I stayed in the stratosphere last year, that worked out great. Cheap, close, and not a bad hotel either. The D school is north west of the strip so the strato was pretty ideal. Good luck

why is it that the receptionist i spoke to said that the dental school is far from the strip?
when i mapquested the distance from Caesers Palace to the dental school address, it says like 4 miles.
when i also mapquest the distanct from Caesers to the main UNLV campus, its around the same distance.
i thought the main UNLV is far from the strip (1-2 hours).
can someone clarify?

by the way, i called the school to check my status, and he said that they sent my interview packet the other day.

not even close. UNLV main campus is a huge square bordering major streets flamingo and tropicana...the airport is right there on swenson and trop (corner of UNLV) and the strip is maybe 1 mile west. Caesars is on Flamingo and the strip, so its about 2 miles from UNLV main campus, and like mapquest says, about 4 miles from charleston and I-15...everything in Vegas is very close, if something takes 30 minutes to get somewhere, that place is VERY VERY far. Its not like california or some other disgustingly congested city where it takes an hour to go 5 miles.

by the way, when did your printout get mailed to UNLV? and did you send secondary before they contacted you or what?

I thought UNLV was one school where you could send your secondary immediately after submitting your AADSAS. The secondary is downloaded from their website. I sent my secondary and money order back in July. Still waiting to hear something.

JohnHICP....you should do the same if you have not already, although you do have the advantage of being a Nevada resident!

Good Luck!

Yeah, i need to get on that secondary right away... but there arent enough hours in the day if you know what i mean!

I just received a letter from them today for an interview. Looks like they're finally starting to get things going. Hopefully I can stay with a friend that just moved down there.

There secondary was downloaded from the website, but it had a lot of stuff to get through. It was one of the later ones I sent out, but it was still pretty early I guess. Early enough🙂
