Any way for someone to find whether you're applying?

Wondering whether if someone wanted to, could he/she call AMCAS or any med school and ask if a specific person is applying? Concerned about people at work finding out that I am applying...long story. Is AMCAS or med schools allowed to give out that kind of information? Thanks!

Why don't you call them and see if they'll tell you? If they don't, then there's your answer.

I wouldn't think so. Every time I called AMCAS/AACOMAS they asked for my SS# or ID. I've called schools and just given them my name, though. If your coworkers have this information I guess they could call.

BTW, they sound like they don't have enough work to do! Why do they care? 😕
