hey, i was just wondering whether there were others out there who had interviewed with LLU in october/november who had yet to hear anything (rejection, wait list, acceptance)?

seems kind of a long time to be waiting for some type of status update...

I got waitlisted but forgot to send back their form to stay on the waitlist. No bid deal I guess since it wasn't my top choice.

interviewed around then too and still no word. shucks!

From speaking to a few other students that applied there last year, they received their rejection letters (post interview) well after February. Might be a while till most of us hear anything back.

Yea, um...
Well I go to an Adventist school, and the dean came directly to my school to interview. I didn't have to fly down there. When I showed up for my interview, he knew nothing about me; had never seen my AADSAS app., did not read my essay, did not know my DAT scores, etc.
I was VERY upset, but apparently this is how LLU operates to the other Adventist schools. I specifically attended an Adventist university for 4 years because of loma linda and hoping I would have a better chance, but the taste in my mouth of this place is getting rancid.
I interviewed and then tried calling and writing thank you emails, but have heard nothing; no returned phone calls, no correspondence, but the lady said they do everything via snail mail.
I would like going there but its 45000 a year and the fact that I got in already somewhere else when the whole reason for my last 4 years was for LLU makes me , well, kind of enraged. Good luck, but if you hear anything, it will be in the mail.

thanks for the replies. yea i heard if you come from an adventist school the interview process is slightly different.

i was just curious since it seemed like very few people had heard from LLU, especially at the Dec 1st mark.

Interviewed in October still nothing

If this makes you feel any better, the dean who I interviewed with knew nothing of me either - or at least that was the impression I got. We went over my academic files, DAT scores, and then we proceeded to talking about my family, extracurriculars, and dental experience. Just FYI, I'm not an adventist, nor did I attend an adventist institution.

I haven't had any trouble getting in contact with him though. Most of my correspondence with LLU has actually been through my interviewer. He's gotten back to my emails at the very latest, by two days after, so I can't say that I've had any trouble relaying my thoughts and concerns to the school.

Was your interviewer Dr. Kasichke? Maybe I should give him the benefit of the doubt and try emailing him again...

Yipes. Everyone (including AADSAS) mispelled his name. Dr. Kasischke has been nothing short of awesome and honest with me. When I had specific questions, he's been the guy I've turned to.

So you guys just emailed Dr. Kasischke asking about the status of your application? I interviewed at Loma Linda as well and have been accepted elsewhere and have to let them know if I am going to accept their offer or not so I am waiting to hear back from Loma Linda. Should I send him an email too?

If you want to talk to them and let them know your dilemma, why not just contact the person that interviewed you ? I'd be pretty careful about how I would word the question though, because words in an email may not properly relay your intent. If it were me, I would only press this question if the school was absolutely my top choice - and not just another option.

If I were interviewed by Dr. Esther Valenzuela(Director of Admission), should I try send Dr. Kasischke my letter of intent also? I sent one to Dr. Valenzuela and haven't get any response from her yet.......

LLU is my top choice and I am still waiting since mid-Oct.....

My post here was just saying that I contacted my interviewer, and he's been helpful and honest. But please note that my questions were not about my application status. I'm not suggesting that people start flooding one guys email box to get answers, because I doubt that would be good for anyone. If your interviewer didn't respond, chances are they haven't come to a decision yet.

Update**
I tried emailing Dr. Kasischke again, and this time I got a prompt response. I actually told him that I had been accepted elsewhere and please tell me when I could expect to hear something, as I have until Jan 19th to say "Yes" or "No." He wrote back and said the adcom committee just came back from break last monday, and are reviewing files and will be mailing letters, this is the ONLY way they notify you of an acceptance. So, my foot is in my mouth from an earlier post.

Although I have to ask, is anyone else on this thread attending/have attended an Adventist college like myself? It seems like everyone from my school ONLY applies to Loma Linda, as they are Adventist. I think this is ludicrous and stupid, and pardon my blasphemy "Praise God" I got in elsewhere because I honestly don't think by me going to Adventist schools since high this made one IOTA of a difference.
So normally I'd be pissed, but I'm indifferent instead, still hopeful I get in as all high school/college Adventist friends go there...but we'll see what happens.
Good luck dudes/dudettes. Loma Linda is very peculiar, Adventists like myself have VERY different beliefs and traditions...brace yourself.........
And get ready to attend a mandatory worship every thursday for the next 4 years of your life.......
but the people who live in Loma Linda average a 7-year longer lifespan.
Also LOTS AND LOTS of Asians.
Also no meat on campus served, only vegetarian.

I get that you're frustrated - I can sympathize, because I am as well. However, being a half asian (vegetarian) and all, I'm not at all displeased with the latter two comments.

during my interview last week w/ Dr. K I was told that only 10 or so interviewees are reviewed every week and that they don't finish sending out initial offers until April. So it will be a wait for all of us.
