i interviewed there at the end of october and have not received anything from them. anybody else in a similar situation with mayo?

I interviewed mid-October, and received a ranking e-mail at the end of November. But nothing since.

I'm assuming that they're running behind or something because they told me i would receive some decision (accept, hold, reject or whatever) before Thanksgiving, but all I got was a rank notification.

You still haven't received a ranking e-mail? That's a little odd - have you tried contacting them?

I interviewed earlier than you (September 27th), but I was waitlisted (this is different from the "ranking" email) on November 4th.

My friend interviewed there about the same time as you, and she hasn't heard anything either. She was told the same thing as you too . . . she would hear about a waitlist, ranking, etc. by now. But they also told her they were WAY behind this year, so don't be surprised if it takes a little longer than usual. She's going to wait until after the New Year before calling.

lol. Yeah, i'm actually okay now. I've accepted the fact that i might not hear til March or something.

Last year, I interviewed in November, was put in the hold category (as most people are) in about 4 weeks later and was finally accepted in March. I know it is hard not knowing, but don't give up hope yet!

Actually I intervied mid-Octoberish. I'm not that bummed since I was sorta expecting it (isn't it 1/5 or 1/6 chance of being accepted post-interview?? 😱 )

But I don't know whether they're doing it by order. I have absolutely no idea what's going on over there.

Being on hold is not a bad sign at all, infact most people who get accepted do get put on hold. Since the class size is small, they only offer a couple acceptances with each committee meeting because they don't want to fill the class before they are finished interviewing. So the likelihood of acceptance the first time your file is up at the committee meeting is small. An interest letter could definately help. If you haven't already told them of your undying love, go ahead and send one. Mayo is an awesome school! I am thankful everyday I am here.
