Any words from stony?

Has anyone heard anything from stony lately? i interviewed back in early december and no words what so ever, i think they said they might contact you anytime from now till.... august

I haven’t heard anything yet. I posted a similar thread last week and even people who interviewed on Dec 2nd have not heard anything yet. I was told at my interview there would be a second wave of acceptances towards the end if Jan. Someone who interviewed in Dec. for the 2005 cycle said they weren't contacted till March for the second wave 😱 .

you need to contact them...if you interviewed in early december, then you should have heard from them early january. they take a month to return to you with a decision. other people who interviewed at stony heard from them after a month. is stony your top choice?

guys, there is a number of SDNers who interviewed early december and got a decision early january...in the current cycle...go find them in the "attendance thread" and then PM them

I don't think you're right. I am pretty sure no one has gained acceptance that was not in the first wave. I go to undergrad there so I know the deal, and Stony Brook is notorious for making people wait if you weren't in the 1st wave.

Haha you're making me nervous. Any threads showing this? The attendance thread only has Mich212 attending and she was accepted Dec 1st. Also, the acceptance thread was last updated for Stony Brook on 12/7.

no you're not....3 SDNers told me they got their acceptance letters early jan after interviewing early dec. one of them appears in the list you looked at. so you're not missing anythig. just PM those kids in the list.

How do you figure? It was last updated 12-07-2005, 07:57 PM with the list matching the current list. So therefore someone went back in time and added their name to the list? What you are saying is impossible. No one got accepted since the first wave on Dec 1st. I am positive.

Are you sure you're looking at the acceptance thread and not the interview thread??

Stony takes their sweet time in accepting people.

For instance, a couple of people in my class applied late (january) and were accepted in March - June; someone who interviewed in September got accepted towards the end of July.

Basically, it's a crap shoot. Just keep waiting, but don't let other acceptances slip away from you in hopes of receiving one from Stony.

I am pretty sure that by June they let everyone know what their status is.

rockin, it seems that you're right. but your anectodes are alarming...jeez...apply september and then get accepted in july ....wow 10 months to decide.....

rockin, why is it that way for Stony? do you know?..i mean uconn has a small class too but they seem to move pretty quickly..

I was interviewed on 1/12 and no word from them yet 🙁 I only received a letter from them thanking me for coming that day.

I hope they make a decision by May. Wishful thinking, right?

They cherry-pick their students. They have told us that they put an incredible amount of effort into picking what they feel is one of the best (and most qualified) classes in the country --- yada yada yada...
