Just curious if anyone knew any residents at Yale who have chosen to live in NYC. I realize this would be a difficult commute via Metro north but just wondering how feasible (or even possible) this might be.

Uhhh, there are a few - partner works in nyc, etc - and some who live in greenwich/stamford but that commute with intern hours (read: prerounding) would be challenging.

Feasible for a determined resident. I think it would be difficult for an intern.

Thanks for the advice. I can see how it would be difficult during intern year, but as the call schedule becomes lighter, I was hoping to hear some residents had done it...which is sounds has been the case.

Which Yale program? That would be nearly impossible if you are at the main campus in New Haven. You do NOT want to have a long commute ahead of you on your way into, or at the end of, a long shift.

The Greenwich campus, which is halfway between NYC and New Haven, is a difficult commute to and from the city on a daily basis as well. A friend of mine has been doing it throughout intern year and has spent a lot of time on the road every day. Your time is such a premium as a resident - and especially as an intern. I wouldn't do it.
