Anybody do well on the Orgo of the DAT using JUST Kaplan?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
yeah, i got a 23 in ochem and just used the blue book, and for some reactions i looked up the mechanism in my ochem text which helped me memorize. I also made flashcards for all the reactions. Then I did the Kaplan practice materials. That's pretty much it.

Kaplan blue book is a good place to get your foundation, but you have to know and understand their material thoroughly. The catch 22 with Kaplan is that they don't give you problems (60 questions if you count the full length exams) to practice with, so you can't really evaluate how well you understand the material.

I got a 22 in Ochem based off of studying Kaplan. I read through the book and made notes and tried to understand all the reactions. Then I read through the book again and made sure to check my notes that everything was complete. Then I made a huge list of all the reactions (sorted by functionality) and memorized it all. I used the blue book as well as the online resources. The only other thing I used was two of the TopScore science sections. Oh, and I sucked at OChem when I took it in undergrad. C- the first semester, C the second semester, and B- when I retook the first semester. So whether or not you did well in ochem in school, you can definitely own it for the DAT.

Oh yeah, forgot to add, I didn't have Destroyer (for any of the sections). I looked at my friend's copy and didn't particularly like it, so, yeah.

I got a 26 on organic and although I did go through destroyer once, I'm completely positive that my score would have been the same without it. Organic on the test is incredibly basic and knowing EVERY part of kaplan blue book front to back is all you need to do well.

the organic chem course at my university + kaplans was enough for me. I think i scored a 26 or 27 on it.

oh sorry.. i used kaplan blue book PLUS online material.
online stuff is pretty good. very representative questions.
